EARTHQUAKE!!! PRAYING NEW MEXICO BOUND
We had a 6.5 earthquake in N. California. We are still feeling tremors in the beautiful victorian Village of Ferndale, California. It felt like a jackhammer swirling through our small apartment. My husband & I held each other in the doorway to our bedroom.

CROCHETING COMFORTS ME.....

This picture reminds me of when I was a teen. My mother and I would crochet ecru squares for her dinging room table. When my sister would asked 'What did Ana cook?', my mom would pipe up and say, 'The crochet tablecloth your eating on!':)
I may ask a young lady to do the same with me again someday, hope she's interested.
I read in a magazine today that working with your hands is good therapy. I knew that but hadn't really experienced it until I picked up a needle once again. Working on a long ago ufo I had started last summer during VBS, I once again began to crochet. Oh what a comfort & joy I felt when the apron began taking shape. I prayed for everyone and everything as I sat back in coziness.
The gift was completed just in time for Christmas and well received :)
REMEMBER: Enjoy & share your talents, one day you may eat atop your crafts :)

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.....

I love Russian Culture especial Russian literature. It began innocently one day when I mentioned it to a co-worker and she recommended 'Zoya' by Danielle Steel. I was hooked. I read the book and loved the Fabrege eggs & Ballerina scenes. I've since been amored with the art & culture from there.
Our minister from Rhode Island went on a missionary trip and told us it was freezing and the place reminded him of the 1930's in technology. He enjoyed the Russian Circus and shared pictures of poodles dancing so primitive yet cute. One sister in Christ had four daughters, she gave him money and he bought her back 'Russian Dolls'. He displayed them along with all the other gifts her bought and they were 'gorgeous'. I asked him how it looked and he said he saw birch trees everywhere. One funny thing he shared was he wore ear-muffs and apparently that's what all the 'street-hood' wear. The teens all started calling him 'hoodlum!', he was so embarrassed, but took it all in stride.
ENJOYING: The classical Nutcracker Suite a Maurice Sendak production awesome :)
REMEMBER: When you see a birch tree....think from Russia with love from above.

I Pledge allegance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, with LIBERTY & JUSTICE for All. Amen
Good Morning Everyone how are you all this Glorious God given day? Well the Good News is God in his great mercy has spared the lives of the 'Son Light Children's Home (sponsored by the church of Christ). I was really worried and praying about what happened in Haiti, then remembered about a christian lady I had read about in Christian Woman magazine.
Hope your all are having a quiet evening at home. Our New Year's Eve was as still as a mouse with a cat in the house.
