This picture reminds me of when I was a teen. My mother and I would crochet ecru squares for her dinging room table. When my sister would asked 'What did Ana cook?', my mom would pipe up and say, 'The crochet tablecloth your eating on!':)
I may ask a young lady to do the same with me again someday, hope she's interested.
I read in a magazine today that working with your hands is good therapy. I knew that but hadn't really experienced it until I picked up a needle once again. Working on a long ago ufo I had started last summer during VBS, I once again began to crochet. Oh what a comfort & joy I felt when the apron began taking shape. I prayed for everyone and everything as I sat back in coziness.
The gift was completed just in time for Christmas and well received :)
REMEMBER: Enjoy & share your talents, one day you may eat atop your crafts :)

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.....
I love Russian Culture especial Russian literature. It began innocently one day when I mentioned it to a co-worker and she recommended 'Zoya' by Danielle Steel. I was hooked. I read the book and loved the Fabrege eggs & Ballerina scenes. I've since been amored with the art & culture from there.
Our minister from Rhode Island went on a missionary trip and told us it was freezing and the place reminded him of the 1930's in technology. He enjoyed the Russian Circus and shared pictures of poodles dancing so primitive yet cute. One sister in Christ had four daughters, she gave him money and he bought her back 'Russian Dolls'. He displayed them along with all the other gifts her bought and they were 'gorgeous'. I asked him how it looked and he said he saw birch trees everywhere. One funny thing he shared was he wore ear-muffs and apparently that's what all the 'street-hood' wear. The teens all started calling him 'hoodlum!', he was so embarrassed, but took it all in stride.
ENJOYING: The classical Nutcracker Suite a Maurice Sendak production awesome :)
REMEMBER: When you see a birch tree....think from Russia with love from above.

NIEVE EN NUEVO MEXICO! SNOW IN NEW MEXICO!
The kids called it seems like Jack Frost has been to New Mexico this Christmas and our grand-children are experiencing snow for the first time :)
and loving it.
We got pictures of their new cottage home, it's so neat and pretty. It looks a lot like their former home here in Ferndale, yet transposed. There is plenty of sunlight coming through the windows.
The galley kitchen looks like ours, and the living room is very spacious.
They all had a wonderful Christmas with Great Granny, and visiting brother, wife and cousins. The pictures of the snow looks so refreshing, too. Wish we all were there together, but we are one heart In Christ :)
Remember: Cherish the love & enjoy God's gifts from above.....

BE STILL & KNOW 'I AM GOD'..... (Psalm 46:10)
If you look for me at Christmas, you won't need a special star....
I am no longer at Bethlehem, I am right there where your are.
You may not be aware of me amid the celebrations,
You'll have to look beyond the stores and all the decorations.
But if you take a moment from all the things to do, and listen
to your heart you'll find that I am waiting there for you.
Your the one I want to be with, your the reason that I came.
And you'll find me in the stillness, as I am whispering your name.
Love, Jesus

CHERISH THE LOVE SENT FROM ABOVE....
Merry Christmas everyone :) We had a quiet morning & wonderful Christmas day. Woke early went over to Trudy's to visit & give her a pretty gift bag filled with a candle & thingies . She was surprised and getting ready to go to a family Christmas day. Saw her Ceramic manger, it's beautiful.
The morning was cool & breezy. I returned home to exchange stocking gifts with hubby. I received lavender bubble bath, two small poem booklets, licorice, plastic chrystal heart w/pix insert.
Hubby got small sketch book, small poem book, candy, black dog & silver cat ornament.
Our family arrived at 3pm. and the celebration of Christ-birth in Fellowship began: Hubbies watched
The Christmas Story; ladies prepared the meal. Oh yes, the best gift a cooked ham from our in-loves :) cooked with loving hands looked & smelled so good. The sweet girls received their 'stocking gifts' and the smiling boy got dominoes, which he thoughly enjoyed. The men each were given cutting board cheese & salami sets. My favorite girl got a pair of purple-pom pom socks for her tired feet. My best friend received a hand-crocheted apron; Ideal christmas magazine. Each got scented sachets and cute magazines.
The dinner was a success. I cooked rice with golden potatoes/ peas & carrots. The gift of ham & cranberry sauce was a delicious addition. Also added to the treats was a pumpkin pie....well received & enjoyed by all. And the most favorite treat were my 'Oh, mambo Italiano-Cookies', given to us from my favorite girl :)
Remember: Enjoy each day & pray....keep pondering good thoughts and share Christ love with everyone.

TERMS OF ENDEARMENT
The 'Child in me' would love to have an 'Old Fashion Christmas' just like the ones we use to know where the tree top glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow. Not to much snow, but a dusting would be so beautiful, don't you think? Well I've been back to reading 'Christian blogs' and getting 'Fellowship-Ideas' and to my surprise I've found some really nice ones.
Ideal party games: Conversation Starters by Mary E.Dumuth One thing you'd change about yourself and why? Which movie title/scene best decribes your life? When are you most creative a.m.;p.m.;evenings? You could give your friend any gift what would it be? Your President of the U.S.what would you do first? Describe a perfect day-what do you see & what would you do? Favorite three historical persons come to dinner/who's they be? what's the topic of conversation? Adopting six-named/why?
Will continue adding to this 'nice list' :)....

ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH....
....sweetly echo singing o'er the plains
and the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria,...In Excelsius Deo...
Shepherd why this jubilee,
Why your joyous strains prolong
What the gladsome tiding be,
Which Inspire your heavenly song?
Come to Bethlehem to see,
Him whose birth the Angels sing
Come adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord the newborn King.
See him in a manger laid,
Whom the choir of Angels praise

While oun hearts in love we raise....Gloria....In Exclesius Deo.....
