CROCHETING COMFORTS ME.....

This picture reminds me of when I was a teen. My mother and I would crochet ecru squares for her dinging room table. When my sister would asked 'What did Ana cook?', my mom would pipe up and say, 'The crochet tablecloth your eating on!':)
I may ask a young lady to do the same with me again someday, hope she's interested.

I read in a magazine today that working with your hands is good therapy. I knew that but hadn't really experienced it until I picked up a needle once again. Working on a long ago ufo I had started last summer during VBS, I once again began to crochet. Oh what a comfort & joy I felt when the apron began taking shape. I prayed for everyone and everything as I sat back in coziness.

The gift was completed just in time for Christmas and well received :)

REMEMBER: Enjoy & share your talents, one day you may eat atop your crafts :)

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.....

I love Russian Culture especial Russian literature. It began innocently one day when I mentioned it to a co-worker and she recommended 'Zoya' by Danielle Steel. I was hooked. I read the book and loved the Fabrege eggs & Ballerina scenes. I've since been amored with the art & culture from there.

Our minister from Rhode Island went on a missionary trip and told us it was freezing and the place reminded him of the 1930's in technology. He enjoyed the Russian Circus and shared pictures of poodles dancing so primitive yet cute. One sister in Christ had four daughters, she gave him money and he bought her back 'Russian Dolls'. He displayed them along with all the other gifts her bought and they were 'gorgeous'. I asked him how it looked and he said he saw birch trees everywhere. One funny thing he shared was he wore ear-muffs and apparently that's what all the 'street-hood' wear. The teens all started calling him 'hoodlum!', he was so embarrassed, but took it all in stride.

ENJOYING: The classical Nutcracker Suite a Maurice Sendak production awesome :)

REMEMBER: When you see a birch tree....think from Russia with love from above.

YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE!

NIEVE EN NUEVO MEXICO! SNOW IN NEW MEXICO!

The kids called it seems like Jack Frost has been to New Mexico this Christmas and our grand-children are experiencing snow for the first time :)
and loving it.

We got pictures of their new cottage home, it's so neat and pretty. It looks a lot like their former home here in Ferndale, yet transposed. There is plenty of sunlight coming through the windows.
The galley kitchen looks like ours, and the living room is very spacious.

They all had a wonderful Christmas with Great Granny, and visiting brother, wife and cousins. The pictures of the snow looks so refreshing, too. Wish we all were there together, but we are one heart In Christ :)

Remember: Cherish the love & enjoy God's gifts from above.....

BE STILL & KNOW 'I AM GOD'..... (Psalm 46:10)

If you look for me at Christmas, you won't need a special star....
I am no longer at Bethlehem, I am right there where your are.
You may not be aware of me amid the celebrations,
You'll have to look beyond the stores and all the decorations.

But if you take a moment from all the things to do, and listen
to your heart you'll find that I am waiting there for you.
Your the one I want to be with, your the reason that I came.

And you'll find me in the stillness, as I am whispering your name.

Love, Jesus

CHERISH THE LOVE SENT FROM ABOVE....

Jesus presented at the Temple with Joseph & Mary. Simeon & Anna prophesy about the Christ child. I love when Simeon said 'This child will be the Salvation of Isreal' and how he could now rest in peace having seen Isreals Salvation....touches my heart. My father once told me 'I won't die till I see you again' and God kept his promise no sooner did I visit him then he rested his soul. And Anna is one of my favorite bible ladies, dailey she fasted & prayed at the temple and was the first to publicly proclaim Jesus as the Redemption of Israel. God loves us ladies and always puts us in the forefront. And my most favorite is when I read in God's word 'Mary pondered all that was said about Jesus in her heart'....oh, so sweet to trust in Jesus.....

Merry Christmas everyone :) We had a quiet morning & wonderful Christmas day. Woke early went over to Trudy's to visit & give her a pretty gift bag filled with a candle & thingies . She was surprised and getting ready to go to a family Christmas day. Saw her Ceramic manger, it's beautiful.

The morning was cool & breezy. I returned home to exchange stocking gifts with hubby. I received lavender bubble bath, two small poem booklets, licorice, plastic chrystal heart w/pix insert.
Hubby got small sketch book, small poem book, candy, black dog & silver cat ornament.

Our family arrived at 3pm. and the celebration of Christ-birth in Fellowship began: Hubbies watched
The Christmas Story; ladies prepared the meal. Oh yes, the best gift a cooked ham from our in-loves :) cooked with loving hands looked & smelled so good. The sweet girls received their 'stocking gifts' and the smiling boy got dominoes, which he thoughly enjoyed. The men each were given cutting board cheese & salami sets. My favorite girl got a pair of purple-pom pom socks for her tired feet. My best friend received a hand-crocheted apron; Ideal christmas magazine. Each got scented sachets and cute magazines.

The dinner was a success. I cooked rice with golden potatoes/ peas & carrots. The gift of ham & cranberry sauce was a delicious addition. Also added to the treats was a pumpkin pie....well received & enjoyed by all. And the most favorite treat were my 'Oh, mambo Italiano-Cookies', given to us from my favorite girl :)

Remember: Enjoy each day & pray....keep pondering good thoughts and share Christ love with everyone.

TERMS OF ENDEARMENT

The 'Child in me' would love to have an 'Old Fashion Christmas' just like the ones we use to know where the tree top glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow. Not to much snow, but a dusting would be so beautiful, don't you think? Well I've been back to reading 'Christian blogs' and getting 'Fellowship-Ideas' and to my surprise I've found some really nice ones.

Ideal party games: Conversation Starters by Mary E.Dumuth One thing you'd change about yourself and why? Which movie title/scene best decribes your life? When are you most creative a.m.;p.m.;evenings? You could give your friend any gift what would it be? Your President of the U.S.what would you do first? Describe a perfect day-what do you see & what would you do? Favorite three historical persons come to dinner/who's they be? what's the topic of conversation? Adopting six-named/why?

Will continue adding to this 'nice list' :)....

Osito our Care-bear.

Osito went on a walk one winter day and found himself so far away.
His friends all missed him for you see, he was close to his family.

ANGELS AMONG US....

Giving hope and joy where ever they are encountered. And our loved ones smiling in their hearts to themselves realizing they are among God's precious presence of love and care.
Today as you go along your merry way preparing to celebrate God's greatest gift, remember enjoy a safe and joyous holiday with your Angelic friends and don't forget to entertain them.

COMPANY COMING ! :)

We have lots of stuff and my bed becomes a temporary holder of books and such during the visit. But it's all worth it to have good company & great fellowship. Mind you the boys, Joe & Becky came over for a short period in and out mostly.
But soon, I hope we'll have a dining room (Lord willing ) and have the family visit more often.

Remember to Enjoy your loved ones while it's called today, before they are called to service.

LADY WHY DO YOU WEEP ?.....RABONNI-TEACHER!

We completed reading & studying the Gospel of John during worship last Sunday. It was so good and interesting. I really love this Gospel...it's been said it gives you the power to do what's in the letters to the early church of Christ. A couple of my favorite scriptures are towards the end: Mary seeing the Lord and Christ asking her why she cried, that so deep. I'm sure he still asks us that today, right :).

I love In John 20:13-16, when Christ tells her ....go tell my brethren I ascend unto my Father, and your father and unto my God and your God. She goes to the disciples and tells them all that Jesus had told her. And all this was written that we may believe and believing have life through Christ name.

                                  Blessed are we who don't see yet believe.....John 20:28

Remember: Tell Christ why we weep....believing Our Rabboni God will bless us.....

FAITH THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR....BABY LOVE.

A TRIBUTE TO MOM.

Created with our precious mother in our thoughts. My mother-in love a wonderful lady. Whenever she came in the room would light up.
Such a gracious & loving lady. Always at the ready to encourage and lift us up.

Born in Paris, class was her style. Dainty beautiful and sweet to know her was a treat.
I am so very proud to have had her as a blessing in my life, she led me on to be a better wife.
Her words of joy sang in the air, as she hug and kissed everyone to show her care.
No one till this day will take her place. As I reminisce on her lovely face.

Always a whimsical smile she had, as she shared joy with her family that made her glad.
Today is an anniversary of you see, she will always be a favorite angel to me.

Remember: Hug & kiss your mother-in love before God calls her from above.

Enjoy: Every lesson she shares today and bless her soul as precious memories come your way.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKY GIRL !

The angels will guide you all the way. And make your new life pleasant every day.
So stop and smell the Lily of the valley and you'll see. Christ love will be with you through-out eternity.

New Mexico Bound.....

They may be possibly staying in a cottage...will keep you posted on housing. Meanwhile, her mom is also downsizing stuff from her attic and wondering why did I ever keep these things? I am just buying my time looking over my shoulder trying not to get to ahead of myself and wait for answered prayers.
The chickens will be left to go to a good sanctuary with others of their kind.
And somewhere a little girl is waiting to be adopted.

Remember: Once the clock starts moving and prayers are answered, it's only a matter of time.

Enjoy: The view- don't stew...I hope they take their angel picture with them to guide the way.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH JOE*BECKY & FAMILY

We shared some good eats and then the ladies and children proceeded to the park while the men rested.The kids had a great time playing basketball with Becky. Then the mother were reminiscing as we knew this maybe our last time together. It's all so sudden, but for the best everyone is going their own way doing their own thing.
The Flemings will go to work at his father's ranch, while Joe & Becky go to New Mexico Christian Childrens Home. The other part of our family is hopefully moving to Texas nearer to Becky's brother in Missouri. I was asked what we would be doing and I said 'Go home and pray'.
We really love this quaint town and all it's amenities it has to offer. Everything is within walking distance. Everyone, who's heard of the kids moving is excited yet will like us miss them terribly.
They have made a wonderful impression for Christ church and will be dearly missed.

Remember: Count your blessings every day before their packed and sent their away.

Enjoy: Your loved ones while it's called today...you'll never know when & how the Lord will call them away.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO WE :)

Our anniversary came on a breezy autumn day.

We had a quiet day with each other. Enjoying a brunch and waited for our son & family to visit in the evening. When they arrived we were given a cute card with two lady-bugs on it. Being they are in the process of packing to move everything was short & sweet.

We reminisced about last year our 25th and how they went all out to give us a wonderful dinner party with the whole family. It was great and we will always cherish their love.

Remember: Family 1st beginninng with our loving spouse.

Enjoy: A quiet Autumn day reminiscing with loved ones.

HONOR TO WHOM HONOR IS DUE

Today we received an email  about the above gentleman. This Veterans name is Shifty.
The story goes he was at an airport and a gentleman stopped to speak with this elderly soldier. On his hat was an Air Force pin. The curious man asked what it was for, and the Veteran proceeded to tell of his flights. With a lump in his throat the man asked if he had been in Normandy, Yes! bright eyed the elderly gentleman told of his lost comrad.
Approaching the plane the man helped the elderly veteran to his seat. Having a first-class seat the man asked the stewardess to exchange with to honor the Veteran. The elderly gentleman spoke, it's Okay son I know there are not many of us left, but he appreciated the kind gesture.
We pass so many Veteran in our walk in life. Lets give Honor to whom Honor is due.....and that's all I have to say about that , no wait.....that reminded me of Saturday, We went to the Veterans standown in Humboldt County. The Fairgrounds were set up for the big event. There was a big turn-out cars everywhere.
We were asked at the gate if we had knives??? The young soldiers had beepers....My husband had to walk back to the car and return his small key-chain knife. We registered and were asked if we need clothe??? apparently we have a homeless population of Vietnam Vets, it's so sad.
The gentleman in charge gave us a free monogramed T-shirt size Medium, we'll give it to my grandson. Hurrying starving we were told lunch was still being served, but when we got there the lady said 'Lunch is done!' :( That was the look on my face. I saw two pieces of pumpkin piece and jumped saying 'Oh! may we have those'. she smiled 'yes:)'. When we sat down ate it tasted so good. :)
My husband and I walked around to the 'Resource Tables', they had everything you could imagine: Social Security; Haircuts; Housing; etc.
REMEMBER: Honor the Vets whereever they serve.

MEXICO CHILDREN'S MISSION-JULY 2009

Our daughter-in love and grandsons went to Baja, California to a Children's home, and volunteered with their VBS in July.
It was a busy week of Lessons, fun & games. The boys had a great time with children their own age.
A day trip was made to Encenada, Calif. to visit Mexican members of the church. Our grandson said he felt like he was the 'hands & feet of Jesus'. He certainly has the heart of a good christian. And all the children loved our other grandson with hugs & kisses.

The children appreciated & and loved their visit so much....One of the little ones, when played with, kept laughing and saying 'Otra Ves!'in spanish meaning 'Once More!'
The trip was 'Thank You God' safe and enjoyable.
And a certain lady pleasantly was given a gift-plaque reading 'Mi Casa su Casa'.

REMEMBER: Enjoy & pray for all children home & abroad....

SUNDAY AFTERNOONs WITH BECKY

Thursday, September 3, 2009

OUR grandsons visited this week and bought their favorite reading books to show & tell. The youngest one loves to draw and surprised each of us with a 'Winnie the Pooh' picture that represented who we are. His art is so well rounded and sweet that I thought I'll recreate it in Redwork stitches. Now if I could just get the patterns wrapped around my head. I might even continue with some Christmas ones, also. I am looking for all kinds of ideas for patterns, it's really lots of fun to recreate art into stitches....there's also Bluework, I'd really love to do those in vintage kitchen towels....gotta go check my needlework stash.

Remember: Enjoy your 'Babies-Art' it's only here for a season.

OUR HOME TOWN.

A GOOD TIRED.....

I stand here watching my daughter in-love resting after her long trip to the Mexican Children's Home. She's so exhausted, yet willing to plan for her next adventure for Christ church.

We are so very proud of all her accomplishments. She never fails to work hard for the cause of Christ. I hope she knows how much she is loved & appreciated by everyone. Shh, must go now and pray for her well deserved rest & recovery.

REMEMBER: Enjoy your daughter in love & give her a love hug :)

VBS AUGUST 2009

We had a wonderful Vacation Bible School this year. A full house of children with the theme of: The Armor of God.
All the children were excited as were the mothers to regroup once again.
The weather was perfect thank you God :)The lessons were well understood with keen insights. Crafts were delightfully created, as the one precious boy kept reminding us 'The Sword' is the word of God. Girls giggled as they played in the sun,and cared for the little ones.
Our Lunch lady & assistant did a fantastic job keeping everything fresh & delicious. She even received a crochet apron as a Thank you gift. Everyone cheered as they lined up to enjoy the feast set before them.
Pictures were taken of paper-clad soldiers as mother's looked on proud of the accomplishment always experienced at this church of Christ children's mininstry.

Remember: Love, Enjoy & teach your children in season and out of season....

BELIEVE & ACHIEVE

Had a really busy week going back & forth to attend VBS at my son's house.
It was great getting up early and heading out the door all zippy dee dooh dah. Ready, willing, and able to do God's will is such a wonderful rush. VBS started at Ten a.m. and I've been meaning to start a walk regiment, so this helped tremendously.
Thank God, I was able to start the day bright eyed and cheery. The house was full of family friends and children. Everyone was excited beginning with a puppet-show, Joey was grandpa and Davey the little question-boy. The Theme was 'The Armor of God'.
Each group had a teen volunteer which was very helpful. The young ones enjoyed creating crafts based on scripture in Ephesians 6. They designed swords representing the 'Word of God' and matching shields to protect from them from the arrows of the evil ones. It's amazing how they simply understood the lesson based from the bible. We all had a great time. Play time was a reprieve for mom's enjoying a delicious brunch on the sun laden quilts with their precious sweet children.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CHAPPELS IN LOVE !

Happy 12th Anniversary! to our wonderful Son Joseph & Beautiful wife Rebekah. On 4th of July, we enjoyed watching our Home-town parade together.We all had a quiet day in our respective homes.
In the evening, we shared watching the Fireworks over the phone. Lots of  'Oh's & Ah's were heard as Our Country and Family celebrate precious memories of New Beginnings.
On Sunday, we gave them their gift a beautiful Vase with purple stem flowers, they loved it.
Followed by a delicious Sunday-Brunch.
REMEMBER:  THANK GOD CELEBRATING OUR JOYFUL FREEDOMS W/ VETS & FAMILY....:)

MOTOWNS BEST

 I fondly remember Michael from his early days, when the kids at home danced to his hit song 'ABC' back then it was easy as 123. We all really enjoyed watching the 'Jackson Five' sing & dance their way to fame. I love the middle picture of them all together with their sweet little sister Janet.
All week long I've been watching about his life on T.V. seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon trying to promote their viewership.
I was surprised to see the dates l958-2009 on tv, at first I thought it was Liz
Taylor. I got on You-Tube and found a really beautiful video 'jackson vs jackson', it comes full circle of Michael in a lovely piano room playing the song 'I'LL BE THERE'...in comes (a shadow of) young Michael and joins him to sing:
WE MUST BRING SALVATION BACK!
WHERE THER IS LOVE I'LL BE THERE!
That and this is how I chose to remember Michael Joseph Jackson: 1) as a sweet child   2) as a young man with beautiful smile & hair. 3) Okay, as creepy as 'Thriller' is I like his jacket & smile.  4) and as the Amazing Showman.
And like Forest Gump said ' And that all I have to say about that'....Enjoy the Good Memories :)

DAVEY'S BIRTHDAY....

Tomorrow Sunday,the Lords'Day,we will worship, and in the afternoon, we will all celebrate our grandsons'birthday.
I created this polyvore-card of all his creature friends joining in to cheer everyone.

On this one Special Day the weather was so fantastically Great;
all our Family & Homeschool friends came to Daveys' birthday party to Celebrate.
The ideal theme was Sherlock Holmes and everyone had to Investigate;
Bags of pad & pencils were given to all;
All of Daveys' friends young & tall.
A scavenger hunt began with full swing;
While clues were laid out and Teslor did win!
Everyone ate a chocolate treat;
All the food was great, oh so sweet.
Davey enjoyed opening his gifts;
Then we heard a Violin, oh what a lift!
The sound was like music to our ears;
As everyone laughed and Davey smiled with cheer.

Remember: To count your blessings, as gifts from above.....

JOYS OF SUMMER....

Open your eyes and don't miss a thing;
Of all the Joy our God in this wonderful season does bring.
Today is the only day that we have to enjoy;
Plans for the future is Gods' to deploy.
In the light of the morning sun;
May you truly remember & appreciate Gods'son/sun.
Our days' are like smoke flicker up from a light;
that comes from Christ, who has won the fight.
So don't despair and just pre-prayer your day;
as you walk in Christ light of 'Truth, Life & way.

JOYS OF JOURNALING :)

I found a booklet-type calendar with the theme 'Womans' Art', and began scrapbooking magazine clips and writing notes & quotes. It really looks nice and neat.
I checked 'Art-Journaling' on You-tube of Suzy-blu, she has really fun ideas.
So I decided to create my own unique style and am enjoying it very much
.
I invite everyone to try their own way of journaling their joys, dreams & hope.....
Remember: Enjoy your life as you count your blessings with loved ones. Show & tell :)

MY GRANDSON SINGING BRINGS JOY TO GOD & FAMILY...

Our grandsons' Joey song leading really makes me glad. Every Saturday, he calls with his choices of 'Worship songs for Sunday.
I created this Polyvore Set to show & tell how cheered up it makes me feel. I hope he will be able to see and be sure of how much encouragement he brings to us all. He truly is growing into a wonderful child of God. He is full of cheer and always ready, willing and able to do his best for everyone. We love him and hope and pray God continue to grace him with wisdom and health to serve him.

We always love & appreciate our young & beautiful song bird.
